Just Love Her is the author’s safe and happy space, created from initial heartache and pain, as a new beginning for her to look forward and step into a bigger season of her life, to discover her true self and find her real place in the world.

It is about living in the moment and being grateful for what it brings. It is a place for honesty and truth.

Just Love Her is about freedom, purpose, openness, inclusivity, acceptance, forgiveness and potential.

It is a journal of the author’s thoughts, life, lessons and adventures in her pursuit of travel, nature, freedom, independence, happiness, friendship and love.

It is a dream about going to the furthest places, and meeting the strangest people, learning unimaginably new things, and documenting them all for the world.

Current season: Seeking purpose

The current season of writing is about seeking purpose.

It’s amazing how nice we people are. We don’t give ourselves enough credit for it. We go along in life accepting a lot of things and putting up with a lot of things that we don’t really like or want simply because that in our minds we have to. And when we think we need to do that something, or be that someone, we go right on ahead and do it and live our lives according to our sense of duty and obligation, never questioning once or stopping our sacrifices because we think we know that what we are doing is right, right by our own standards whatever that standard may be. Next thing we know, years have gone by, and we are right where we had started in the first place. It is almost as if time had stood still all these years, but no, it has not. In fact, it had raced past us and left us stranded in its dust. It is us who have stayed where we are, doing the same thing all over again each and every day, being the same person we were all this time, without changing. We had stood still.

But there comes a time where life shows us a little mercy just when we need it. It could come in a form of a tragedy, a loss of a loved one, being cut off from a constant, steady and depended on source of income, losing everything and everyone one has ever had and owned and being left with nothing, losing a sense of self and a superficially constructed and adopted identity by many years of existence only to find out when a tragedy strikes that one hasn’t ever really had a true friend who loves them unconditionally and genuinely for who they are after all that time, because sometimes it takes something that big, that bad and that difficult to shake us to our senses, awaken us from our coma and wake us up to the reality of our situation and that is that we have been lost for a while now, actually lost, wandering about aimlessly and going along with it, whatever it is that is going along for us, for quite some time but didn’t realise because we were just too nice.

We have just drifted along in life, just going with the flow of many things and wasted so much precious time along the way. We have gone with the wrong people and chased after the wrong things. We have forgotten and put away our initial passion and purpose in life because we had believed we could never achieve it because it was just too impossible and too unattainable. We have accepted what is in front of us because it is easy and convenient and we have settled for what is less than what could have been. We have given up on ourselves and our calling, and along with that, our destiny. We have surrendered to routine, comfort, familiarity and mediocrity which we have inconsolably called our fate.

But somewhere along the way, a hard block hurled at us by life’s mercy hits us with disruption and causes us to stop what we are doing and who we are pretending to be, stare in disbelief at all that’s going on around us while frozen in pain and makes us realise that we cannot lie to ourselves anymore. We have to pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off and trudge towards our destiny however slow and painstaking that may be because that is what beckons us. The whole of earth is waiting for its true sons and daughters to rise up and take their rightful place in this world and that is what we have to do. We have to be doing what we have been made and are called to do.

We have to go after what we want in life. We cannot settle for anything less. We must be seeking our purpose and chasing after it as if our very life depends on it, because it does. For once we show ourselves to be worthy and faithful, our destiny will turn towards us and draw us to it. Our purpose will come after us and come for us. It needs us to fulfill itself just as much as we need it to fulfill us. But first, we have to be honest with ourselves and seek after it, whatever that may be. Only we ourselves have our own answer and know what that is and we have to go after it with abandon. We have only one life in our lifetime, and we cannot afford to live a lie. We have to be true to ourselves because this is the only possible way to truly live. We need to be seeking our purpose so our purpose may find us.
